AIG launches golf insurance product Cover yourself and your equipment while out on the golf course with this innovative product

One of South Africa's top insurance companies, AIG, has entered a new
sporting market, after launching an innovative new golf insurance.
Golf, an increasingly popular pastime in the country, comes with its own
perils and dangers, and AIG offers players peace of mind when they step out onto
the greens to enjoy their game.
The golf insurance provides cover against death or injury on the golf course,
loss of golf equipment whether out on the course or in the club, and liability
for injury and property by the player.
The Regional Warranty and Plus+ Manager of AIG in South Africa, Kevin Skuse,
said that the insurance was tailor made for golf player. "It's perfect for those
who have a bad hook or slice," he said.
The insurance was created after customers requested that AIG launch the
product time and time again.
"The cover provides for the loss of clubs and other golf related items," said
Skuse. "Even your yellow, green and brown plus fours which cause car alarms to
go off."
The insurance is affordable to the average player, with prices ranging from
R10 to R40 a month, depending on the cover.
A more light hearted factor of the insurance policy also covers the player in
the case of getting a hole in one. While most players would be pleased to
achieve this, they may have forgotten the 'honor' of having to buy the entire
club house drinks as a result.
The new insurance provides reimbursement to players who have to fork out up
to thousands of rands if they get a hole in one.
"We recently settled a bar tab for just over R5000 on behalf of one of
clients," said Skuse. "He was obviously elated he hit a hole in one and quite
relieved that he did not have to pay for the expensive celebratory round of
drinks."
