Personal Accident Policy launched by Santam Unlike other policies this policy covers per insured life, and not per vehicle.

After considerable research into the needs and wants of South African
motorists, Santam insurance group has launched its Personal Accident
Policy to protect its clients on the road this busy season.
"Santam conducted research into the exposure a client would have at the time
of an accident," explained the Executive Head of Santam, Hendri Nigrini.
"Once the results were unpacked, we saw the potential risk of a client being
financially ruined in the event of physical harm caused by a road or personal
accident," he added. "We therefore developed a new solution that brings peace of
mind and comprehensive cover."
The new insurance brand has some interesting features, including a structure
that covers per insured life and not per vehicle as is found in other policies.
Customers also have the choice to insure themselves and their families for
sums ranging from R50,000 to R5 million.
"We already know that individuals take great care to insure their
belongings," said Nigrini, "but often neglect to insure their most valuable
asset, themselves. Santam's solution is a stand alone product that offers
consumers greater choice of cover types to ensure that a life changing accident
doesn't change their lifestyle."
"Each policy is tailor made and has the flexibility of choice in providing a
family or individual option," said Nigrini.
Clients have the option of choosing comprehensive personal accident cover or
cover for car accidents only.
Claims for these policies will be referred to trained handlers so that they
can be processed quickly and efficiently.
