STANLIB has made a another staff appointment Steward Rider has taken position of Chief Investment Officer.

Soon after appointing Thabo Dloti Chief Executive Officer, STANLIB
asset management group announced that another high executive appointment has
been made.
The group said that Steward Rider would be made Chief Investment Officer of
the group and would be working together with Dloti who came to STANLIB as former
Chief Executive Officer of Old Mutual Investment Group.
STANLIB is owned by Liberty Holdings.
Chief Executive Officer of Liberty, Bruce Hemphill said that another
appointment has been made, this time for Chief Executive Officer of alternative
investments.
Patrick Mamathuba has been offered this role.
Analysts say that STANLIB has taken a proactive decision to cherry pick some
of the top executives in the industry in a bid to change its image.
The group has come under increased criticism for poor financial performance,
which has seen its broker network take a hard knock.
Another top gun roped in has been Andrew Vintcent who is replacing Nigel
Mackenzie to head the research team at the group.
Vintcent moved from RMB Asset Management to take up the position at STANLIB.
Kate Rushton was also head hunted from Absa Capital to head STANLIB's credit
research for fixed income portfolios.
Finally, Shawn Stockigt joined STANLIB from Achelon Capital to mange the
small and medium sized share portfolios.
