At a special banquet scheduled to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre in
Gauteng, the Financial Intermediaries Association will honour those who have
contributed to the industry in a wide range of categories.
The event, to be held on May 21, is an annual prize ceremony that encourages
intermediaries to develop partnerships within the industry and the insurance
industry at large.
The FIA Awards have been a tradition since they were introduced in
1998 and award excellence in service to the consumer, which is seen as the
ultimate aim of the insurance broking industry.
Insurers and intermediaries are thus given the opportunity to strive for this
excellence by meeting the needs of their clients in South Africa and winning
themselves an award at the prestigious FIA event.
The FIA Industry Recognition Awards concentrate of three main areas: Product,
Service and Relationships and used the services of Bluestream Consulting to
undertake a survey on its behalf to find the best candidates for the the awards
handed out.
The FIA essentially represents members in the insurance broking industry that
cover the majority of the short term sector, as well as some parts of the long
term and health sectors of the industry.
The FIA will offer prizes in categories such as Commercial Insurer of the
Year, Corporate Insurer of the Year and Personal Lines Insurer of the Year.
In the long term industry section, prizes will be given to the Long Term
Assurer of the Year and the Investment Product Advisor of the Year.
Finally, the FIA awards will honor the Healthcare Provider of the Year.
