It is advisable to take out travel insurance for World Cup next year This covers losses for accommodation, cancellation fees or no-refund ticket costs.

Travellers tend to believe that the insurance they take out for their trip is
only relevant for the time they spend on their vacation. This is why so many
people tend to leave travel insurance purchase for the last minute, sometimes?
picking it up online on the night before their trip, or even at the airport.
However, the card provider, M&S Money urged visitors to South Africa for the
FIFA World Cup next year to consider taking out
travel insurance well ahead of time in order to avoid unexpected mishaps.
Many travellers realize now that insurance can also be used before the
vacation actually begins and can cover losses for unused travel or accommodation
such as cancellation fees or no-refund ticket costs.
There have been examples of travellers being called up for national duty or
jury duty, or of those falling ill right before their trip and therefore unable
to follow through with their plans.
M&S Money said that with the thousands being spent by each visitor to South
Africa next year, a little bit extra spent on the proper travel insurance would
go a long way in protecting hard earned cash.
"It's great news that England have qualified for the finals and thousands of
fans will now be looking forward to heading to South Africa next June," said the
Head of General Insurance at M&S Money, Steve Price. "Tickets for the matches
will no doubt be hot property, but fans should think about what they would do if
the worst happens."
The premier travel insurance offered by this payment service covers up to ?
6.000 for travel or accommodation costs that cannot be refunded. It will even
pay out if the policyholder's travel companion falls ill and cannot fly.
Thus having the right travel insurance should be a top priority for all those
thinking of a trip to South Africa next year.
South African soccer fans should also be reminded that travel insurance is
just as important when flying domestically.
