The South African short term insurance industry got together last week to
honour the top service providers at the annual Financial Intermediaries
Association of Southern Africa (FIA) Awards.
The event was held as a gala ceremony at the Sandton Convention Centre in
Johannesburg and hosted the who's who in the financial services industry in
South Africa.
Top providers were recognised for their contribution to the industry, with
some groups taking an award for the second consecutive year.
"These awards are an important tool with which the intermediary industry is
able to pay recognition to, and honour, those providers in the industry who
provide excellent service to clients via the intermediary channel," said the new
President of the Financial Intermediaries Association, Brian van Flymen.
Santam Wins For the Second Consecutive Year
Santam earned top marks in the commercial and corporate sections
by grabbing awards for Short Term Insurer of the Year in both markets. This is
the second consecutive year that Santam has taken these awards.
Hollard Insurance won the award for Short Term Insurer of the
Year in the personal lines section, and Underwriting Manager of the Year award
went to Commercial and Industrial Acceptances (CIA).
All financial service providers were provided with the full
results of the customer satisfaction survey on which the awards were based, and
which were conducted by Bluestream Research company.
Van Flymen said that he hoped the providers would examine these
results carefully to see how they could better serve their customers.
"We hope that product providers use this information to assist
them in recognising those areas in which they need to improve and those in which
they are performing well," he said.
Areas assessed by the independent Bluestream included product
quality, service quality and relationship quality.
