When short term insurance company, OUTsurance formed its
Help@OUT free emergency service to assist
policyholders 24/7, they did not expect the product to be so popular. However,
this holiday season showed just how invaluable the service has been to many
South Africans, with OUTsurance revealing that nearly 4,500 people were aided
during this period.
The Managing Director of OUTsurance, Ernst Gouws said about the service:
"It's awesome to be able to help our insurance clients out when they are in
need. Whether it be a locksmith to unlock your car or a glass fitter to repair a
window damaged in a freak storm or even a plumber to solve a late night burst
geyser, we go out of our way to send the emergency assistance our clients need
when they need it."
According to statistics put out by OUTsurance, the company helped 1,300
people with household emergencies over the holidays, and another 3,300 who
needed roadside assistance. While the majority were requests for tow services
after a car broke down or was involved in an accident, the emergency service
also helped out with tire changing and fuel deliveries.
One happy client from Pretoria, who was stranded in Durban after his car
broke down, said: "The people at this insurance company were simply amazing -
they took care of everything! That's not something you see every day."
One of the most attractive features of the OUTsurance emergency service is
that costs policyholders nothing to use. "Best of all is that it is a free
service to our clients," explained Gouws. "This means it actually saves them the
cost of subscribing to a paid for service which offers the same benefits."
